Tempted to delete my Paragon
I have a level 20 Paragon, Assassin, Dervish, Ranger, Monk and Elementalist.
I have barely touched my Paragon since beating NF with him, it is awfully tempting to delete him to make a new character, though I don't know what I'd make.
Looking for suggestions on either what to do to make the Para worth keeping or what character class to replace him with (note: I mostly pve)

Check out the Paragon section of the PvE build section, and I think you'll come up with many ideas for saving your Paragon from deletion.

I had deleted a level 20 ele and im regretting it big time now. The thing is that they always nerf or buff certain chars to make them equally enjoyable so if ur not liking ur paragon now that could easily change with some new skills or some old skill tweaks. Personally if u dont have any more character slots left I would delete the Paragon and make a NECRO (favorite char in the game) or a Warrior (another good choice), but if you do have the room i think erasing a level 20 char could be a bad decision.

I agree... I recently deleted my paragon and built a mesmer... much more entertaining. True you'll have a hard time getting a pug, but pugs suck anyway, so grab some guildees and go pwn some monsters.

Why delete? Just create a new one and mule the old. In a few months time they'll buff the heck out of some paragon skill or some killer farming build will be discovered and you'll want it back .

If you only have the 6 slots and you wanna try something different go for it. I've deleted a few before and never regretted it despite making new ones since. You won't loose any unlocked skills by deleting it and your /age won't be effected.
I love my Mesmer too but if your after a more rounded character you can't fail with a necro.

I deleted my Paragon last week. I didn't enjoy playing it, simple as that. Hitting it with the nerf bat didn't help, so I decided to try my hand at Dervish. I'm having a much better time with this one!
Making a Mesmer would be a very good way to go. I have a blast whenever I'm playing mine and all that nonsense about "Mesmers don't belong in PvE" is just that, nonsense! (I get more invites into guilds [happy with my guild, TYVM!] when playing my Mesmer in PvE than playing any other profession.)

Paragons are a lot of fun and extremely versatile if you can coordinate your heroes' builds to synergize with your skills. Once you get Morgahn you can create some pretty nice skill combos.
Try out the ToF axe build in the paragon forum. Sadly, the variety of builds in the paragon forum are lacking here at guru. There are plenty more builds in the paragon forum on gwonline.
Their versatility keeps paragons fun for me. If you'd like to find one uber build and just play that build over and over, you're better off deleting your paragon and making a new class.

agree with cellar: make him a mule. Since anet refuses to really address the storage issue, chances are you'll need the space sooner or later.

They're stupidly powerful, why would you want to delete something with massive defense, good offense and warrior armor (with a permanent IAS and nearly unlimited energy) ?

I actually would suggest buying another character slot. Back in the days before character slots, I deleted characters all the time... only to regret their deletion later. Now I run 10 PvE slots plus 1 PvP slot, and I don't regret it. It saves time in the long run, and prevents those regrets you might get from deletion.
I really don't see what's wrong with a paragon, their pretty strong. I think they took a nerf because they synched too much with other classes. And really, it's not like its the end of the world for them. My paragon still does more than fine.
P.S. Someone said that Anet refused to address the storage issue... Let me ask you this. If they're refusing to address it, then what were the material storage and festival hat storage updates? We got a lot more storage. But I do agree we need more storage slots...

Material Storage was originally intended as a gimmick to buy Factions. (at that time, it was only available to Factions users) Hat "storage" is a politically incorrect definition; it allows all characters to access a hat without the character itself to attend the event. However, it's not "storage."

Farm tombs in about an hour with heroes and hench with the build below. If it works in tombs, you can bet it'll work in most parts of the game:

@Cosypief: You can't guage a paragon by using them as a secondary. Rit/P works well with certain command shouts if u use Vocal Was Sogolon, but otherwise you can't handle continous shouts and chants b/c u won't get energy back like a para goes from Leadership (primary attribute).

In my experience I have regretted every character that has progressed very far in any of the chapters that I deleted. I always end up wanting that class again after some build is found or a later skill buff.
If you like the game then purchasing a character slots is no big deal, I now have one of each profession and a PvP slot. At least now with heroes you are not a total waste in PvE if you delete it, unlocks count for something.
Since this character is through with at least one chapter I would keep it and use it as a mule. I'm still waiting for smiting monks to get a good buff and until then she is a mule - though that has been the only character that has not been reused at some point.
